A relationship survey, even though I never post on this anymore.
1) Single, Taken, or Flirty? Taken.
2) Are you happy with where you are? I do suppose so, that depends on the one taking me.
3) When you meet the right person, do you fall fast? Yes. I want to be their friend. Daniel is the first person I've actually liked right after meeting them.
4) Have you ever had your heart broken? Yes.
5) Under any circumstance is cheating ok? Haha... well... maybe... haha, just kidding. No.
6) Would you ever take someone back if they cheated on you? That depends... why would they want me back? I probably would cuz I'm a loser like that.
7) Have you talked about marriage with another person? Yes.
8) Do you want children? I guess... that'd be nice.
9) How many? As many as I can tolerate... I guess I don't want kids huh.
10) Would you consider adoption? No.
11) If someone liked you, would you want them to tell you? Yeah, I guess, cuz evidently from my past, I'm stupid and I can't tell if someone likes me even if everyone else knows.
12) Do you want someone you can't have? No. I have the one I want.
13) Do you believe love at first sight exists? Eh... no, I guess not. You won't know it's love til later.
14) Do you believe in celebrating anniversaries? I guess so, but after one year, you gotta cut down.
15) Do you believe that you can change for someone? God can change people.
16) Do you have feelings for someone that isn't your boyfriend/girlfriend? I really doubt my heart and mind have that capability to love more than one person on this earth at one time.
17) Ever wished you could have someone but you couldn't? No.
18) Have you ever broken a heart before? Yes... a couple.
19) What would you say about your most recent ex? He's still cool. Just too anti-Christianity for me.

It took me a while to think of what I wanted to say about Jonathan Kang.
Then I realized that I wanted to capture his being in my life, forever. As well as I possibly can.
I'm so glad FBLA existed so that I could get to know Jon. I can take some time now to recall some of the little joys he brought into my life since I knew him. He always kept saying he had to save the president (aka me, for FBLA, at that time at least), and he always wanted to go to Hawaii (or as he said, "huwaieee")... because I told him a few years ago that I had never been there, and everytime he said "let's go to huwaieee" I always responded "but I don't have time... I wish I could though." I wish I could have gone when we still had time. I remember he opened up his house for our socials/member installation. I remember him and his random exclamations and playing duck hunt when I went to visit him, and him showing me the needle that was stuck in his chest... he was so open and eager about these things at that time. He never once seemed annoyed or aggravated or sad. Never. He handled things so well.
I remember he came to visit me in Berkeley, and he brought me pop tarts because he wanted me to try freezing them to try it out, he said they were really good that way.
I remember his excitedness at mario DDR. He was bidding late night, and suddenly he told me "YAY I WON... ok now I must sleep". A few days later he was talking about how it arrived and how it was a bunch of Mario songs and it was interesting. He told me about people visiting him all the time and he was really excited about seeing his friends. He constantly posted pictures on flickr and told me to go check out his newest photos. I remember when he first took photos, he took a photo of the whiteboard and sent it to my Gmail and asked "can you tell what's wrong with this picture"... it took me a while to figure out.
He always talked with me online, a fellow cow-lover he was, but even when he was laying in the hospital, he still left me alone to do my homework as I needed. I always asked him how he was doing/feeling, and since I had done a lot of blood tests myself because of my own syndrome, I could chat with him about CBC numbers and whatnot. (what a fun subject)
Then he told me about... the clinical trial, he described the drug to me and what it would do. I looked it up later, AVN-944, and learned what it did. I read about acute myelogeneous leukemia and what it can do. I remember talking to him over spring break... and then when I returned to school, I tried to chat with him whenever I could. I wish I had visited him before I left for spring break, like I had planned. Nothing should have stopped me.
Starting April, he IMed me each day and told me about how his WBC was going up... and he was annoyed about his camera and getting it fixed... and then his WBC kept going up... he told me the Simpsons movie was coming out in July...
On April 3rd, he IMed me but I told him I had to go to work because I took a shift for a coworker... and he said "darn... I want to talkkkk to you". I wish I had stayed. I wish I had talked with him more. Little did I know my last conversation with him would be on April 5th, Wednesday... then he rushed off to ER and then ICU... and eventually passed away on Saturday evening.
I got a call from a 408 number my phone didn't recognize while driving to Costco Sunday morning with Eunice. After debating a bit, I was about to tell Eunice to just let it ring, but she flipped it open for me instead, thinking I was going to say "oh, whatever, I'll just take it"... and I heard "hello, Daphne? It's Freya"... except it didn't sound like Freya. She was crying and choked up. I thought she wanted advice or someone to talk to... but I had no idea she was calling to tell me about Jon Kang. It took me 10 seconds to actually process what she said, and even then, I said "what?"... she told me it was so, and she thought I would want to know because Jon Kang mentioned me before to her. I was in such shock, I hung up the phone without really knowing, and I couldn't even think of what to say or feel.
So many thoughts that went through my head, and none of them actually got through: Did Jonathan want it to end like this? Was he as happy-go-lucky as he always seemed, not fearing death? I thought perhaps he passed away in his sleep, simply letting go without his own realization. I did not know if he had fought to the end, if he had seen his life ending and realized he couldn't stop it. The more I thought about it, the worse I felt... for his family, who watched him let go after fighting for so long, straining to live... how hard it must have been for them to offer their support for him as he made the decision to leave forever. No matter how many times they tried to fit in the words "I love you" it would never have felt like it was enough: but it was. All of their actions were love. Did Jon know that we all loved him? Was he okay with finally stopping his suffering and moving on? How hard is it for parents to tell their own kid that it's okay to let go now? How hard is it to raise a child for 18+ years and see him put up the BEST fight of his lifetime, give life all he's got, and then have to let go in the end?
Mmm... I realize that Jon Kang really wanted to live. He really fought with all his might, did everything in his power correctly. As his brother said, he took his medications on the dot, he fought hard, he loved life (and of course he did, he had so much to live for and so many people around him) and he was very... very brave. I just wonder what was going through his head as the morphine kicked in... what he wanted to say, but he couldn't.
I suppose we could say he was lucky that he tried to donate blood and caught the leukemia in an early stage before he really felt any symptoms, since AML can be fatal in a matter of months. Because of that, he lived over a year after diagnosis. And he had a lot of fun that year. He had lots of love and fun and happiness in that time.
He's one of the first SN's on my BL, and I keep thinking I'll see him online again... or something. I keep thinking I'll get to see Gmail's from him, like how he E-mailed me his pictures and songs and all the Harry Potter books in pdf format so I could read them in Berkeley. I finally got around to listening to the Daphne Loves Derby song he sent me... I love it.
Daphne Loves Derby - Simple, Starving to be Safe
I remember one time, I IMed him and jokingly asked "so, has Lynbrook won any football games yet?" and he said "WE WON!!! We won last Friday!!!" and I went to the LHS.fuhsd.org website and surely enough, it was there on the front page. I was amazed, and I had to swallow my own words.
He told me about his crushes and how he was confused about who he liked and what to do. He told me little details about his life, and I came to know him as a really good friend even though we were a distance apart. He talked to me even more consistently than Channing did sometimes. At first, I thought he was just a little kid, 2 years younger than me, IMing whoever because he was bored. But he became a lot more than that to me.
I miss Jon Kang, I miss his voice, his reactions, his IMs, his E-mails... I still have a text message on my phone from him, he told me to turn on my headlights when I'm driving in the rain. I remember thinking "this text message cost me 2 cents!" but I'm sooo glad he sent it, because then I will have it in my phone forever.
That is all I can bear to write about Jon Kang. I hope he has a party wherever he is, because he sure isn't one to rest in "peace". He has changed my life completely, and given me reason to live, purely because I can live.
"The cow says moOo..." writes a tribute to "I am cow hear me moo".
For his life and his thoughts, go to jonkang.livejournal.com.

I quit LJ, but I'm being forced into posts by people who tag me... I must honor the tag...
Write 20 random facts about yourself then tag the same amount of people as minutes it takes you to write the facts.
1. I like water... in all forms, because it's beautiful. It's polarity is wonderful! I mean, water can do things that no other substance can, just because it is water. Waterfalls, faucets, running water, rivers, fountains, rain, mist, etc... everything except ocean, because it is deep and scary.
2. One time I was out in the ocean with my dad, on a raft-type thing, and he lost me in a wave, and grabbed me out by my hair. I swallowed lots of ocean water.
3. I'm scared of the stairs and escalators... because I'm scared of having to maintain my own balance, because of previous experiences. I like to plug my ears and run down/up stairs.
4. I have antiphospholipid antibody syndrome.
5. I write private LJ entries even though I quit LJ and I have a written diary too.
6. I used to share a password with Stephen Kou, and some of my stuff and accounts still have that password on it because I'm too lazy to change them.
7. I like dozens of red roses, just because they're romantic. But I also run out of places to put roses when I dry them... my mom had like 3 vases filled with roses because of guys.
8. I'm a horrible student and a wannabe nerd, because I don't think I'm totally a nerd and I don't like to study, but I'm still smart in my own natural little way.
9. I live on Prospect St. amidst all of the frats... frat row... and it is really noisy on Thursday nights because it's party night. Like tonight.
10. I just realized how big a number 20 is... grr on Ken.
11. I have a fear of being abandoned, always, even by those closest to me. No one can ever assure me of their love, enough, because I'll always wonder. Because I know that people don't hurt others on purpose, they just can't help themselves.
12. Howard and I are on a Friends spree, where we are watching the entire 10 seasons of Friends, in order, from the beginning. I think we've watched 25 episodes in ... a week? Less than a week?
13. I'm supposed to not get sun exposure because it's bad for me, but I never remember to wear sunblock, even though I have several bottles of it... which reminds me, Daryl still has my little bottle...
14. I'm the administration leader at Living Water Fellowship.
15. I joined an accountability group with Christine, Natalie, and Jessica!
16. Even though I've lived in an apartment for 2 years now, I've always had a meal plan... until Howard and I decided to be brave and survive without one over the summer.
17. I don't like chocolate.
18. I had Coldstone's for the very first time ever, maybe a month ago.
19. My favorite flavor of Ruffles is either BBQ or The Works.
20. I think Pringles are overpriced. They used to always be on sale for $1 each! Now that price is a rare price.
Um... that took me 8 minutes, so I tag Hui-Wen (hah!), Edith, Howard, Ujval, Christina Chen, Evan Tang, Mike Tran, and Lena... sorry, just the first LJ users I thought of! =D

Write down 5 of your strange behaviors/hobbies:
1. I smell my hands and clothes a lot because I'm really paranoid about smells... especially I'm afraid of smelling like food or like chemicals or whatever else was around me. 2. I used to flick my wrist a lot when I talk, in high school, so my friends made fun of me, but I never knew that I did that. 3. I like to organize shelves in stores and books in the library, even though it isn't my job. 4. Even if it's just a phrasing or word choice issue, I must copy the teacher/professor's writing on the board word-for-word and do everything just like the teacher does, even if it means leaving off a letter or underlining specific words or erasing what I wrote. 5. I can't sleep with my closet open. Just can't. It's like bad things will pop out of it. And closing the door will seal the world's evil away for good.
I tag Howard and Ujval, both of which who also quit LJ. HAHA! Do it, guys! Do it!

I got this in my E-mail from my aunt, and even if what they say about the baby and whatever is not true, at least the rest of the tips seem valid and important, so please read.
TIPS FROM USA POLICE This is a good reminder for all of us. You can never Read this too many times!
1. Tip from police: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!
2. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you.... chances are that he is more interested in your Wallet and/or purse than you and he will go for the wallet or purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car: Kick out the back taillights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you but everybody else will. This has saved lives.
4. Women have a tendency to get into their car after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their check book, or making a list, etc.) DON'T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.
5. A Few Notes About Getting Into Your Car In a Parking Lot, or Parking Garage:
A. Be aware: look around you; look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat. (And check out under the car as you approach.)
B.If you're parked next to a big van you should enter your car from The passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling Them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
C.Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle and The passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)
6.ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are Horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot).
7.If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ, RUN!
8.As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT! It may Get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women? He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.
Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her Porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her "Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door." The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, "We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door." He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby cry recorder and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they heard baby cries outside their doors! when they're home alone at night. Please pass this on! and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby.
This e-mail should probably be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was entioned on: America's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana MostWanted
Please forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. A Candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle.
I was going to forward this to the ladies only, but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it on to them, as well.

So... you know the song by Nu Flavor, Heaven, right? RIGHT, because everyone knows it.
So that song came up on the radio one night, and Howard didn't know what it was... so I told him it was a song from like... 8th grade or junior high times, yeah, and then a few days later, he was like "hey, what was that song that you said everyone knew from junior high?" and I was like OH YEAH, Heaven! So I find it on iTunes, and the first few chords play and the humming begins in the song...
and Howard says "I remember it was by a girl, wasn't it?" because the humming was obviously a guy... and then the singing begins, and you know it's kind of high pitched, and Howard has this look as if the truth just dawned upon him and he's like "ohh.... oh." because he thought it was a girl, because it was so high pitched...

Okay... according to faceanalyzer.com, which I got from Diana's Xanga... I am 100% Korean/Japanese, no matter what picture I submit. Uh... okay. I'm Chinese. CHINESE!!! Although people who do not know me may think I am Korean and my pastor even thought I was lying when I said I wasn't... but I AM Chinese!!! The people who are close to me should know that......... and I'm definitely not Japanese. And since when do Korean and Japanese look alike enough to be put in a category together?
But at least I have a really low "gay" factor. =D

I know there are people who are truly genuine, and naturally caring and loving... and I don't want to hurt them by this post. It's just that I think that... if church people really cared half as much as they pretended to care on Sundays... they'd try a bit harder to reach out to people, to fellowship outside of Sunday, to meet up, chat online, phone call, anything little and simple. I'm not talking like a long-term relationship or something. But they don't.
That's my experience with it.
Isn't it in their conscience, to not lie or lead people on or give them false hope? How can they pretend to be so nice and interested in getting together, and not put in any effort after that? I feel horrible if I do that, I have to at least try to talk to people online. But... not many people do. They're comfortable with their circle of friends already, without church people.
I don't want to be a church or fellowship clique-y person, and I'm very far from it... but I still want to be able to try and talk to church people. Have decent conversations. Meet up for studying. I had a lot of fun that one time I studied with Nate and Elaine last year. It was one of the rare times I actually saw church people outside of church. It means a lot to me.

I have no speech to write for next Tuesday because it is improv. So I will kill time on LJ, because there's no one to talk to online!
I was sitting on Bus 7 today, and I was trying to think of something to write about on my LJ, something constructive... not about toasted bagels. I decided to write about the feelings of a girlfriend.
I know everyone's read that list some guy made about what to do for a girl, and all those are well and true, like "if you're talking to another girl, pull your girlfriend closer" or "introduce her as your girlfriend, not as a friend"... stuff like that. But what about from a girl's point of view?
I've gone through a few guys, I'm not proud of it, but I'm glad I'm still in single digits. Heh. A lot of what I'm going to list has NOT happened to me (repeat: HAS NOT happened to me), but I assume and speculate that it feels horrible.
- He's cheating on you, but when he sees you, he still smiles and hugs and kisses you all the same. - He doesn't care whether or not you have protected sex. - He doesn't escort you late at night because he's lazy. - When his or your cell phone loses signal, he doesn't bother calling back. - He puts you on hold to talk to another girl. - When you want to do something, he says he'll get back to you because he has to make sure it doesn't interfere with some other plans he has with another girl. - He doesn't mind making you wait every single time you meet. - He puts a new video game he just got, or a new TV series he's following, before you. - When you make time to be there with him, he ignores you. - When he's talking to another girl, his voice changes or he becomes sweeter or more caring than he is when talking to you: maybe because he's just normal and more comfortable with you, or maybe because he cares more about the other girl. You'd never know, right? - When you both are trying to accomplish the same thing, and he succeeds in his, but doesn't bother to help you with yours. - When he doesn't want to spend/waste time trying to convince you when you resist against something, just because he's lazy or "he'll go find someone else to go to the event with/do the thing with/whatever. As if going with someone else is just as good as going with you. - He doesn't want to take you to formals or places where couples will be recognized. - He never wants to step out of his comfort zone, not even for you, even if he knows it'd mean a lot to you. - He doesn't buy you roses or candy, because he thinks it's stupid or overdone... if he thinks it's stupid, we won't buy him roses then! lol. - When you point out something he did wrong, he won't accept it or apologize simply... but he will try to argue that he is right or that it is justified... because it is in male blood to justify, I guess. - When you say another girl is prettier or cuter than you, he doesn't blatantly disagree. Even if he just sorta shakes his head, that's not quite enough to believe he doesn't think so. Or even if it is TOTALLY true, he doesn't say "yeah, but you're special because..." - He doesn't say "I love you." - When he's with his guy friends, they become a different group of people, distant from you, and he's so involved he doesn't notice. - He doesn't notice when you're upset, or chooses to ignore it because it's easier to ignore it, and he doesn't want to spend the time fixing it. - They give up after asking a few times, like "what's wrong" or "what do you want" or "is it okay" and just assume you're mad at them or they just assume you answered with the answer they wanted from you. - When you disagree with something, and they do or say it anyway.
I'll keep adding to this list when I get time. It's too long already, and I typed nonstop for just a few minutes... and voila.
Boys are such freaks. Why do we love them??? Sigh.

Movies are about as good as reality TV now... well, half of them. Haha.
h0w412d (10:48:53 AM): most people dread crappy movies coming out...you actively look for them
Right he is... or rather, I look for funny titles.
Bikini Girls on Dinosaur Planet (2005) (V) -- now, why on earth would they do that to me? Is the American population's brains not mush enough?
Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005) -- So, probability would say half the people in the movie die, and the other half laugh while lining the corpses with a couple pounds of diamonds.
Bizarre Love Triangle (2005) - haha, creative name... they don't even TRY to hide the plot. And if the love triangle is the entire movie, that's going to be really boring. And bizarre, meaning all 3 people are men? What? They aren't even ashamed of what they're portraying in the title or in the entire movie.
E-Girl (2006) and Net 2.0, The (2006) - WHAT??? Guh... I don't even want to start.
Incredible Shrinking Man, The (2006) - ok. I quit.
---------------------
On a lighter note, there are movies I want to watch... some are going to be good, some are going to be the worst movies ever rated, but I watch anyway because I'm attached to the characters or plot. Like Bewitched. Which, I didn't think was as bad as everyone rated it. I rather liked it! But I love the old TV series too.
August 12th, 2005 - Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (yes, I intend to watch it. Yes, indeed.) October 7th, 2005 - Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit October 28th, 2005 - The Legend of Zorro November 18th, 2005 - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire March 31st, 2006 - Carmen Sandiego (this is one of the shows I watched as a kid. I bet it'll be a horrible movie though...) March 31st, 2006 - Ice Age 2: The Meltdown May 19th, 2006 - The Da Vinci Code (if I watch it, I don't have to read the book! Yes!) May 26th, 2006 - X-Men 3 (it'd be great if I actually watched X-2 before this...) July 7th, 2006 - Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (eh, maybe. Not that I like Johnny Depp that much.)
That's enough. Haha. That's almost the whole next year! Whee. Joyful delicious movies to waste my money and time.
Now, I've wasted enough time at work... I shall go re-read Harry Potter 6, and plot out directions to Stanford Hospital.
